John Kimock

John Kimock, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 28, 2021, at the age of 90. In his final weeks, he was supported by loved ones who will honor his memory and celebrate his life by keeping the traditions he loved alive. His generous, thoughtful nature and his willingness to help and encourage will be deeply missed.
John was born in Newark, NJ on November 26, 1931. Growing up, he lived in Bayonne where he was a lifelong resident, raising his family there until moving to Jackson, NJ in 2018. He worked multiple jobs over the course of his life, most notably retiring from a long career with PSE&G for over 25 years and working as a pharmacy technician. John was a talented artist and enjoyed sharing his creativity with his grandchildren. He loved teaching the art of Pysanky. Photography was a passion he embraced. John was never without his camera for every family event or outing. His photos are a precious, priceless gift that will be cherished for generations.
Married for 55 years, John is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn (Motkowski) Kimock along with his three children and their spouses: Marybeth (Kimock) and John Learn, John Thomas and Carolyn(Haney) Kimock, and David and Jennifer(Guenzel) Kimock. He is the loving and proud grandfather of Nicholas, Rebecca, Andrew, Matthew, Carolann and Cecelia. John is also survived by his sisters, AnnMarie Yodlowsky and Elaine Pintauro. John was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret (Marcisin) Kimock and sister, Margaret Pietrzak.
The Office of Christian Burial according to the Byzantine Rite will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church, 1937 Church Rd. Toms River, NJ 08753. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
