John P. Ksionzyk

Age 79 of Big Flats, NY. He was born March 16, 1946 in Elmira, son of the late George J. Sr. and Eva (Sekella) Ksionzyk and passed away Monday, August 11, 2025. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother George J. Ksionzyk, Jr. and nephew George J. Ksionzyk III. John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Paula; daughter and son-in-law Christy and Michael Tubbs of DeWitt, NY; granddaughter Jaime Tubbs of DeWitt, NY; sister Mary Kohan of Horseheads, sister-in-law Patricia Johnson of Elmira along with several nieces and nephews. John retired from Westinghouse Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam with the 336th Assault Helicopter Co.; a longtime member of the Horseheads Elks, a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 803 Elmira and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, August 14th from 12 to 1 pm. His funeral and committal services will follow at 1 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember John through donations to Wreaths Across America, c/o VVA, 1200 Davis St., Elmira, NY 14901. ATTN: Larry Sherman
