John Laden Obituary

John served in the Korean War with the United States Army. He also worked as a truck driver for many years in the Detroit area and later owned and operated Laden Meat Packing in Hillsdale. He was a very charitable man who loved being able to help others whenever and however he could. He was a railroad enthusiast, a handyman, and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
John is survived by his son David (Leslie) Laden of Fredericksburg, Virgina, two grandchildren, Zachary (Jennifer) Laden of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Abigael (Michael) La Voie of Pensacola, Florida; two great-grandchildren, John D. Laden and Hattie Grace Laden; and one sister, Jean Renner.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Sharon; and two brothers, William and James.
A memorial visitation for John Laden will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM with a time of sharing starting at 1:30 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Perennial Park Senior Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

The loss of the last of three brothers in my life is very heartbreaking for me. I miss our daily and sometimes twice daily phone calls to one another. Hearing each others voice was very comforting and made our day(s). Having recently lost my dear husband months prior is for me losing the two most important people in my life. My brother was a very kind and most generous man to many and we know he is at peace in his Eternal Home. REST IN PEACE BROTHER until we meet again. Love and miss you beyond words. SISTER, JEAN
