Obituary of John LaMance

John (Jack) Curtis LaMance, of Somers, NY, and formerly of West Harrison, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 73. He was the devoted husband of Lucy LaMance (nee Penirelli), with whom he had been married for 52 years.

Born on January 20, 1952, in Yonkers, NY, Jack was the son of Eugene LaMance and May Jablow (Leighton). His family later moved to Ardsley, where he graduated from Ardsley High School before beginning a lifelong career as a skilled painter and maintenance supervisor.

In 1973, Jack joined Grasslands Hospital, which later became Westchester Medical Center. His talent, dedication, and craftsmanship were admired by colleagues throughout his career. Jack retired in 2010 but quickly realized he missed the work he loved. After a brief year away, he returned to serve Westchester County once again, this time at Playland in Rye, NY, where he worked as a painter until his final retirement in 2020.

Family was always at the center of Jack's life. In addition to his wife, Lucy, he is survived by his son, Richard, his daughter-in-law Lauren (DeNigris), and their children, Grant and Drew; and his daughter, Dana Russo, his son-in-law Richie, and their children, Jason and Abrielle. Jack's greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.

Jack will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind spirit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched throughout the years.

The visitation will be on Friday, September 19th, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd, Katonah NY.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Rd, Somers NY.

The burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 110 North St, Ridgefield CT.
