John Robert Lauman (Bob) passed May 12, 2025 at his home just one week shy of his 85th birthday.
Bob was born and raised in Xenia, Ohio on May 18th, 1940; but he made his home in Lawrenceville, GA for 44 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and John Lauman.
After graduating from Xenia High School, he attended Bowling Green State University then returned to Xenia to serve on their police force for four years.
Bob then enjoyed a career in the insurance industry which culminated as Vice President of SEA, a forensic engineering firm. He retired in 2006 bu continued to enjoy his many lifelong friends from his working years.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara, his children Leslie (William), Mark (Maria), Bobby (Jennifer) and he delighted in his grand and great grandchildren, Tamara (Jennifer), Tom, Andrew, Mark, Ethan, John, Ayden, and Amberlyn.
Bob is also survived by his 2 younger sisters, Elizabeth and Mary Lynne.
Bob was an avid auto racing fan throughout his life but his favorite time of the year was the month of May which always culminated in his annual family trips to Indianapolis for the Indy 500. He would delight in telling you how he got those great seats in the top row of the Northwest Vista.
In celebration of Bob's life, we invite you to join his family for a remembrance service at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home, Peachtree Chapel on June 6, 2025. Family will welcome visitors there between 1-3 and a memorial service will begin at 3 in the chapel. An inurnment at Peachtree Memorial Park at 4 following the service.
