John Logerquist,75, of Sturgeon Bay, peacefully passed away on Dec.18th, 2022, at Sturgeon Bay Health Services. John was born in Jacksonport on Jan. 19, 1947, to Raymond and Kathryn (Marshall) Logerquist. After graduating from Sevastopol High School, he served his country in the U.S. Airforce. On August. 4, 1973, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Gillick, at Sts. Peter and Paul in Institute. She preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 2016.
John was a very loving and compassionate person who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his two grandchildren. He loved car rides, socializing, and going out to eat at various restaurants. He was also one of the Packers and Brewers' biggest fans.
John was a long-time member of Corpus Christi Church and very proud to be part of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. He will forever be remembered and cherished as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great friend to many.
He is survived by two children, Mark (Laura) Logerquist and Amy Logerquist, all of Sturgeon Bay; two grandchildren, Miranda and Lilyanne; brother David, Two Rivers, Brothers-in-law, Darreld Krauel and Bill Christensen; God Child, Jamie Krauel; nieces and nephews; special friends Lorie Andersen, Fyrn Jilot, and Kenny and Mary Bongle.
John was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Kathryn Logerquist, his parents-in-law Verner and Jeanette Gillick, wife, Mary Ann, and two sisters-in-law, Darlene Krauel and Kathy Beno.
A memorial service will be conducted at Corpus Christi Parish on January 6, 2023, at 11:30 am. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the Forbes Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and at the church on Jan. 6, from 10:00 am until the time of service. Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
