John Leon Mangiaracina Jr.

John L. Mangiaracina, Jr., age 76, passed away after a long illness. He was the beloved father of John L. Mangiaracina, III, and the devoted son of the late John L. Mangiaracina, Sr. and Cecile Marino Mangiaracina.

He is survived by his former spouse, Wendy Mangiaracina, and his longtime companion, Grace Petrucco, as well as by numerous cousins and lifelong friends.

A lifelong resident of New Orleans, John was a graduate of Warren Easton High School, Louisiana State University, and Tulane University. He dedicated 40 years of service to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.

Mr. Mangiaracina will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, generous spirit, and remarkable memory. He had a deep love of music, films, and the New York Yankees. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a Mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Mausoleum.
