John W. "Jack" Marshall, Jr was a strong man of faith. He passed away on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 at approx 2pm EST. He passed peacefully at the Brockton Veterans Administration after succumbing to a valiant battle with Cancer over the past 2+ years. He was a devoted father and pillar of his community leaving behind a legacy of love and service.
John was born on March 1st, 1945 at the Goddard Hospital in Brockton, MA to Gertrude "Trudy" Wade Marshall and John W. Marshall, Sr. He spent many years in his beloved hometown of Easton, MA and was the grandson of Olive Mills Ames ( of the Ames Estate ) and William Gunnerson Marshall ( of the Marshall Family Farm. )
John was a builder by trade and worked on many construction projects including building his own home on Worcester St in Taunton, MA. He was an unwavering man of faith who also built Christ Community Church in Taunton, MA and renovated Pope John Paul II High School on Cape Cod. His committment to spreading the word of God and strengthening faith in others touched thousands of lives including at Meeting House Church in Middleboro, MA and The Fellowship Church in Easton, MA.
Beyond his role as builder he also was a beacon of hope and positivity. He was a member of the Promise Keepers for many years and also was actively involved in both Mens Fellowships and the Choir in several of his churches. John was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School as well as Bryant College where he achieved his BBA and Suffolk University where he attained his MBA.
John was a man who believed whole heartedly in serving others. He served his country in the US Army from 1964 to 1966 and is a Vietnam Era veteran. He was incredibly proud of serving his country and always found joy in being with other veterans. He continued to serve as an active volunteer at the Taunton Western Little League complex where he coached the Red Sox Little League team as well as donated countless hours to both construction projects and people during the 1980s.
John will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and all those who's lives he touched with his unwavering faith & kindness. Though he may no longer walk among us in the land of the living, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we mourn the loss of John, let us also celebrate the profound impact he had on the world around him through his Protestant work ethic and kind heart. We can take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love and faith will continue for generations to come.
John is survived by his 3 sons - Scott Bernard Marshall of San Diego, CA, Sean Erik Marshall of Taunton, MA and Jonathan Adam Marshall and his wife Jennie of Milford, MA. He also is survived by his step mother Joyce Marshall of metroJacksonville, FL along with his sisters - Diane "Dee" Marshall Hayes of Easton, MA, Sharon Marshall Fuhs of metroJacksonville, FL and LeeAnn Bristow - as well as his brothers Steven Marshall of Easton, MA, Eddie Martin of Nova Scotia, Canada and Brother- In- Law Lee W. Mr. Marshall was a visitor at the store I work. John always shared his stories of kindness with me upon every visit. We both enjoyed target shooting and would exchange tips and pleasantries. I will miss Mr. Marshalls visits.

Jack Marshall sat behind me in Miss Foster's English class. He was such a good guy. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to all his loved ones.
