John M. Mawyer, 67, of Ruckersville, Virginia, born on May 6, 1958, and died on January 26, 2026.
He is survived by his sister, Jessie Critzer of Charlottesville, Virginia; his aunt, Charlotte Rouse of Charlottesville, Virginia; and aunt, Juanita Darty of Hickory, North Carolina. Not to forget his many cousins and longtime friends, and pal Walker. He was a dedicated employee of General Electric (now Emerson) for over forty-five years.
Family and friends gathering will be February 11, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Hill and Wood Funeral Service in Charlottesville. At the end of the visitation, Reverend Becki Casey will be delivering a eulogy. A private burial will be taking place at a later date, due to the weather.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in John's name to the SPCA or Greene County Animal Shelter.
