EAST FAIRFIELD – John Maynard, age 95, passed away on Friday, September 12th, 2025 at the Northwestern Medical Center.
John was born on September 7, 1930, to Lee and Mildred (Fletcher) Maynard.
A proud graduate of Brigham Academy, John enlisted in the Army after high school, serving his country with honor and dedication. Upon returning home, he embraced his passions fully spending countless hours fishing, hunting, and sugaring in the lush landscapes of Vermont. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding comfort in nature's beauty and joy in the tranquility of the wilderness.
John is survived by is children and their families, Doug Maynard, wife Donna of East Fairfield and their children, Trevor wife Jenny, Chris wife Leah their children, Noah & Calvin, and Shana Elwood her husband Adam and their children Andrew & Abygail, Debbie Maynard of East Fairfield, Don Maynard of Craftsbury, his children, Brian, and Brian’s sons, Brayden and Hunter, and Victoria (Kenny) and Victoria’s children, Grayson, Kinley, Linden, Dan Maynard his wife Patti of Crozet, VA, their children Samantha & Jack, Denise Bordo husband Scott of Enosburg Falls and their children, Gregg (Lexi), Liza (Caleb) and their daughter Halle. John was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marge, and John’s siblings and their spouses.
Friends and family will be invited to John’s life celebration to include a visitation on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 from 4-6:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickenson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 at 11:00 AM St. Anthony/ St. George’s Catholic Church, Route 36 East Fairfield, VT. Interment will follow in St. George’s Catholic Cemetery.
