Age 82, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Beloved husband of Jean (Jahelka) McAleavey. Dear father of Susan Ries, John J. McAleavey, Jr. and Daniel McAleavey. Loving grandfather of Danielle and Krystal Ries and great grandfather of Kyla and Donnie. Brother of Frank and the late James and Thomas McAleavey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. John worked for Werner Continental and for 10 years with the US Postal Service. He was a member of Local Union 249 Teamsters.
