Lynn (Umbarger) Michalek, age 78, of Green Tree passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Thursday, October 16, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jeanne Umbarger. She is survived by her three children Trish (Sean) Curran, Craig (Beth) Michalek and Leah (Steve) Falk. She cherished the time that she spent with her three grandchildren Evan, Colin and Fiona. Lynn was the proud sister to her three wonderful brothers Jay (Lynn) Umbarger, Dave (MJ) Umbarger and Tim (Jill) Umbarger, along with their children and grandchildren.
Lynn’s heart for service ran deep throughout the community, church and schools. She spread her love of music my singing with the South Hills Chorale, St. Margaret of Scotland Churchchoir and her many, many years of volunteering with the students during the Keystone Oaks High School musicals.
To commemorate Lynn’s love for the beach, the family asks that those attending the visitation wear their best (appropriate) beach attire/accessories. The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 3:00-7:00 pm at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15220. A funeral mass will be celebrated at The Parish of St. Raphael The Archangel, St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 310 Mansfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 on Friday, October 24th at 10:00 am. Burial will be private to the family.
