John Wayne "Mac" McDaniel, Jr., 70, passed away on March 8th, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Born on June 23, 1954, in Medford, Oregon, John led a life of loving dedication to his family and friends usually accented with a joke and a smile.

John graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1972 and enlisted in the United States Air Force and served 20 years. After retirement from his service, he began work with Northrop Grumman where he worked for 30 years in a field he loved. In 2000, John earned his Bachelor's degree from Embry-Riddle in Professional Aeronautics and in 2009 his Master's degree from the same in Aeronautical Science.

John loved exercising his intellect and expertise on his spare time as well, and enjoyed many hobbies and interests with friends and family. He was building his own airplane, enjoyed camping and fly fishing, sailing, woodworking, and was a lifelong student of Military and Aviation History. Most of all, he loved spending time with those he loved and cared about. Nothing made him happier than making someone else laugh. He was an exemplary father and provider.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Beverly McDaniel; his children, John McDaniel III and his wife, Heather, Erin McDaniel and her boyfriend, Wes, and Kaitlin McDaniel. John leaves behind in the good care of his family nine grandchildren: Jimmy, Catherine, Charlotte, Carrigan, Caroline, Coral, John (Jack), Cecilia, and Jude. John is also survived by his siblings: Shawn Murray; Mark McDaniel and wife, Cindy; Brian McDaniel and wife, Lecia; his sister, Margie Rochelle; and his sister, Mary Andrews and husband, Chris Andrews. He also leaves behind a very large and loving family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends, who will miss him greatly and always cherish their memories with him.
