John worked for Sage Realty Company as an Operating Engineer. A man of various interests John was an avid golfer. He enjoyed fine wine and dining and traveling with his wife Francesca. John relished the time he spent outdoors, be it sightseeing, hiking, or just marveling the beauty of nature. John believed a day at the beach and listening to the waves crash, was the perfect remedy for any of life's problems. John was a lover of animals especially his dog Boba.
John is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Francesca, his Mother Annie, his sisters Helen Caruso and Tricia Fox. John was pre deceased by his father Lazarus and his brother George.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at The John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Services Inc. 111 Main Street Matawan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, 10:00am at Most Holy Redeemer Church 133 Amboy Road, Matawan.

When I first met John he was loud with a wonderful smile. He always asked about how school was going and how he was proud I was working and going to school. When he met my husband he said to him you got a great person there. John was always smiling, kind, gave his opinion on things, funny, but most of all a great guy. Working with him I will always remember lobby and saying " what the eff" lol We would all laugh and catch up. Getting the news of his passing was a shocked. My heart goes out to Francesca and the family. Rest In Peace John, smile and be pain free.

I will always remember his constant laugh - everything he did was with a laugh or a smile. One of the nicest guys i knew and i will miss him dearly. It was my pleasure to have known such a wonderful person. May he rest in peace always!
