John was born on September 16, 1964, in Roger City, MI to Richard and Helen (Fisher) Mikolowski Sr. He was a graduate of Sault High School, with the class of 1983. He worked in concrete since he was a teenager, and later owned Mikolowski Masonry. John was also a foreman for the Chippewa County Road Commission after working there for 21 years. He enjoyed hunting and ice fishing.
John is survived by his wife: Ann (Curtis) Mikolowski, whom he married on August 27, 2008, on Sugar Island; his children: Brandon Mikolowski of Sugar Island, MI and Kaylor (Mike) Taubitz of Farmington Hills, MI; his mother: Helen (Fred) Forrest of Brimley, MI; his siblings: Cindy Plitz of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Richard (Kamie) Mikolowski, Jr. of Sault Stel Marie, MI, and Jeff (Sue) Mikolowski of Boyne City, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father: Richard Mikolowski, Sr.; and a brother: Kelvin Mikolowski.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 10, 2022, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. Friends may gather at the funeral home starting at 1:00 PM.
Following the ceremony there will be a celebration of John's life at the Sugar Island Community Center from 4:30 until 7:00.
