Daniel Mikolowski

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Daniel Mikolowski, age 65 of Almont. Dan went gloriously to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home. He was born June 19th, 1959 the son of Elmer & Elizabeth (Wessel) Mikolowski. Dan grew up on the Mikolowski family farm in Davis and graduated from Romeo High School. Dan met the love of his life, Debra Striggow at the Waterford Farmers Market while selling produce and Debra selling flowers. Married May 4th, 1981. They purchased their own farm in Almont in 1983 and started a multi acre flower farm, supplying flowers to florists around the state. He had a deep love of farming and grew magnificent flowers. Dan and Debra worked side by side creating a legacy of hard work, and while doing so they shared a great love story.
Dan was the pillar of strength and support to so many people. He had a deep love for his family, and was so proud of his 3 children and 10 grandchildren. Dan was a devoted husband and father, always there to offer guidance, love, kindness, and make you laugh. He was known for his sense of humor, and could light up any room with his jokes. His personality brought joy to everyone he encountered.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and watching the flowers grow on their farm. Dan was very happy when visiting their family's Cabin in the nature of the Upper Peninsula. Every year he would look forward to his annual deer camp at the cabin. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring those around him with his kindheartedness, generosity, and unforgettable spirit.
Dan is survived by his loving children: Benjamin (Jessica) Mikolowski, Shasta (Jotham) Achenbach, and Chelsea (Cody) Bonner, his 10 grandchildren: Adrianna, Makenna, Camden, Dahlia, Tobias, Azalea, Zinnia, Tansy, Tate and Deacon, his mother Elizabeth Mikolowski, and siblings: Sam Mikolowski, Paul (Andee) Mikolowski, Julie (Derrick) Muzzin, Ann(Greg) Seeloff, Victor Mikolowski, and his brother-in-law Don Vanhoutte. He is predeceased by his wife Debra Mikolowski, his father Elmer Mikolowski, his sister Diana Vanhoutte, his brother Chrissy Mikolowski, his father-in-law Jene Striggow, and mother in law Betty Striggow.

The family will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1:00-7:00pm with the Celebration of Life Service at 5:00pm all at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center 2650 South Van Dyke-Imlay City, MI 48444.
