Nancy Evelyn (Jacob) Mikolowski died peacefully in her sleep Sunday December 15, 2024 at the age of 89. She married the late Herbert E. Mikolowski on December 15, 1956 so they were reunited for their 68th Wedding Anniversary.
Nancy leaves behind two daughters June E. Mccallumore (Donald) and Judy E. Laurie (Jim). Also Three granddaughters whom she loved dearly, Kyle (Mccallumore) Young, Devon (Mccallumore)Klimaszewski and Amy Laurie. She was also blessed with four great grandchildren, Ella and Luke Young and Riley and Landon Klimaszewski.
Nancy was born on a farm in Armada on November 29, 1935, the youngest of the four children of the late Fred and Evelyn (Miller) Jacob. She graduated from Armada High school in 1935. She was predeceased by her two sisters Jean ( Don)Pratt and Marian (Wes) Sutton and has a surviving brother Howard (Jean)Jacob. Nancy led a life full of hard work, kindness and love! Nancy started her work life on her parents dairy farm, then worked as a bookkeeper for Macomb County Road Commission and finally as a Clerk for the Armada Post Office. She retired when her first granddaughter Kyle was born so she could spoil and babysit her and continued that tradition when Devon and Amy came along and great grandchildren too. Her love and care for her granddaughters, daughters, husband, parents, son in laws, great grandchildren and entire family was a priority to her, family always came first! Our mother also found time to read, knit, crochet, cross stitch, have three pen pals from around the world, grow a garden and can vegetables. She LOVED animals and spoiled many dogs, stray cats and a racoon or two in her lifetime. She traveled to many states including a two month camping trip to Alaska and multiple trips to Hawaii. She was an active member of the Armada Congregational Church and finally avid gardener. Her gardening skills left a legacy of beauty, especially her daylilies, matched only by the kindness she spread throughout her life. If you knew our mother, she probably sent you a card or shared some act of kindness as she was such an unselfish loving woman. As a Jacob/Miller she was also Strong (maybe a bit stubborn) and independent...she raised her daughters to be the same! Her strength, love and kindness will be greatly and deeply missed but we are All better people for having her in our lives! She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, Aunt, friend and just a great role model...thank you for a life well lived mom...Rest now, you deserve to.
