John Samuel Moak Sr., 80 years old, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 14, 2024. He entered this world on January 4, 1944, born to Elvie and Prentis Moak, in Bogalousa, LA. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He owned his own business for many years, Moak's Heating and Air. He retired after 25 years of public service with the Central Fire Department. He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with family.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Beth Tate Moak; two sons, J. Samuel Moak, Jr. and his wife, Candy, and Aaron Lee Moak; grandsons, Travis Moak and Carson Moak; twin brother, Joel Moak, Sr.; brothers, Prentiss Moak, and Benny Moak; sisters, Judy Aucoin and Alicia Rodgers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Johnelle Moak; parents Prentiss and Elvie Riles Moak; paternal and maternal grandparents; brother, Nicky Moak; and special friends, Dennis Lewis, Herman Garner, and Chief Huey Kinchen.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Travis Moak, Carson Moak, Joel Moak, Jr., Chad Aucoin, Ryan Cleveland, and Jamie Cleveland.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Road, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM.
