A day has not passed by where I haven´t felt this emptiness in my existence that only my dad was ever able to fill. I just can´t understand why he was needed in Heaven so soon because he made this dark and dull world we live in just a bit brighter each day simply by being alive. I miss my dad so much, a feeling I´m sure won´t ever get any smaller or less painful as the years continue on.
Until we are together again, Daddy. I´ll be counting down the days. I love you.

I am so grateful to have been John´s friend in growing up in Huntington during our high school days. I am so blessed in having these precious memories of John:
- Restoring his 56 Chevy in his parents´ side yard, along with his older brother, Bill, advising us
- Working at the 16th Street (now Hal Greer Blvd.) A&P grocery store
- Taking college prep courses together at St Joe and with John pushing me to always to do our best
Rest in peace John.

John was such a kind and gentle soul. I don't think I recall a time ever in high school where he wasn't always amiable and polite. The Class of 1973 missed seeing him at our reunion last year. The world is a lesser place without John Moreland.

As one of John's classmates at St. Joe, I shall never forget his wonderful smile.
