Obituary of John J. O'Dea Jr.
John J. O'Dea, Jr., 63, of Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village in New York City passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025. John was born in Staten Island and was a longtime resident of Stytown. He served his country in the United States Airforce as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist during the Lebanon and Grenada Crisis. John worked for Consolidated Edison for over thirty-three years and retired in 2021. He was a fan of the New York Yankees, the Giants and his favorite, University of North Carolina Basketball. John always liked to work with his hands and enjoyed building models, puzzles and playing video games. He was also an enthusiastic reader of books.
John was predeceased by his parents, John J. and Charlotte O'Dea. He is survived by his siblings, his twin sister Eileen Tonkin and her husband, Richard of Clinton, WA, twins, Mary Meehan and her husband, Terence of Huntersville, NC and Margaret D'Amico of Freehold Township; and seven nephews.
A U.S. Air Force Honors inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, Salisbury, NC.
