John Andrew Osborn, age 78, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his residence in Dallas, Georgia, on December 10, 2025.
Born on July 27, 1947, in Birmingham, Alabama, John was the son of the late Ernestine and Charles Osborn. He was a proud graduate of Jacksonville State University, where he earned a B.S. in Accounting. John dedicated his professional life to a successful career as a purchasing agent, lending his expertise to companies including Abco Rents, Southern Pipe and Supply, and finally HD Supply, from which he retired.
John was a true sportsman with a competitive spirit that spanned decades. In his younger years, he was known for his love of the open road, riding his Triumph motorcycle until a serious crash ended his riding days. His need for speed eventually moved to four wheels in the Alabama Sports Car Club, where he skillfully raced his MX3 and AMX, bringing home numerous trophies.
His love for competition continued on the bowling lanes and at the billiards table; as a member of the APA, his pool team's talent and dedication took them all the way to the national finals in Las Vegas. When he wasn't competing himself, John could be found cheering on Alabama football or watching NASCAR. Beyond the world of sports, he possessed a deep appreciation for the arts. He loved music and dancing, and he was an exceptionally talented sketch artist-a gift he inherited from his father.
John will be remembered as a man who was stubborn but fair. He was a tireless worker who valued punctuality and precision above all else; if a job was worth doing, John always had a "trick" to make sure it was done the right way. A perfectionist who always spoke his mind, he was a steady and devoted presence for those he loved.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Regina Carol Osborn. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Casey; his cherished granddaughter, Harper; and his older brother, Billy. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Kim, Scott, Stefanie, and Natalie, along with many friends and teammates who will miss his sharp wit and unwavering character.
A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at West Cobb Funeral Home. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the chapel service to follow immediately at 2:00 PM.
