John Lee Parr Jr., 62 of Middlebourne, WV, formerly of Weirton and Wellsburg, WV, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at UPMC Washington, PA.
John was born on January 6, 1962 in Sistersville, WV. He was the son of Wanda (Eddy) Parr and the late John Parr Sr.
John was a graduate of Brooke High School. He went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps for six years. John was a member of the Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church, Alma, WV. He worked as a registered nurse in the Ohio Valley from Trinity Medical Center, Weirton Medical Center and Wheeling Medical Park. Many will remember John for his love of hunting, playing pool and a good political debate; but most of all, spending time at church and with his beloved family.
In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Parr and a brother, Scott Parr.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by his five children, Victoria Parr and her fiance, Jeremy Walton of Follansbee, WV, Ciera Parr, Makayla Parr and her husband, Adrian Bogayong of Virginia, Sgt Mark Parr with the US Space Force stationed in Hawaii, Jacob Parr and his wife, Alexis of Cadiz, OH, two grandchildren with an additional on the way, Michael and Jaxon Parr, four siblings, Gary Parr of Wellsburg, WV, Neil Parr and his wife, Carol of Billiant, OH, Rita Parr-Lantz and her husband, Dave Lantz of Follansbee, WV and Brian Parr and his wife, Becky of Wellsburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 and again on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at the Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church, Alma, WV with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corp.
Interment will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Tyler County.
