To all the family, John was like our son, we knew his family for for 45+ years. He use to watch our daughter Amber when we lived next door. Rick had just talked to him 2 days before. It was a great shock to us both. He always did our Tractor Club Christmas auction and played Santa for the kids at the dinner. He will be missed by us and all who knew him. Rest in peace my dear friend.

John was like family to me and he gave me the greatest nickname, "Goob". I´ll always remember the times I spent on the Pate farm growing up and the way the John, Jenny and Jody treated me like family even though I was younger. He was a great man and I know he will be missed dearly. My condolences to the friends and family.
