Angier, NC: Mr. John Paul Collier, Sr., age 78, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at UNC Clayton Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Overflow Church, 8280 NC HWY 50 N. Angier, NC 27501. Revs. Ray Honeycutt, Chris Searles, Jonathan Hoefer, and Brandon Teachey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Church Cemetery, Angier, NC.
Mr. Collier was born on January 17, 1945 in Virginia, to the late Nathan Penrose and Edna Florence Stevens Collier. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Collier. Mr. Collier was a retired salesman, and was a jack of all trades. For many years, he could be found working for the Gideons International spreading God’s Word. He loved the Lord, sailing, tractors, cats, and farming. He was a member of Johnson Memorial Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jo Anne Honeycutt Collier; daughter, Laurel C. Paguio; son, John Paul Collier, Jr., and wife Wendy; grandchildren, Samantha Collier Paguio, Tiffany Collier, Kayla Stone and husband, David; Cody White and wife Emily; and Lexie Morgan Collier and fiancé, Erick; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Carter, Mason, Landon, and Navy; sisters, Patricia C. Moore and husband, James; and Edna C. Langdon and husband, Kent; brother, Haywood Collier and wife, Jacqueline; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM-Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC, and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the Gideons International PO Box 2527, Smithfield, NC 27577.
