John William Pauvlinch, 75, of Muskogee was born August 16, 1950 in New Brighton, PA to Joseph and Kathryn (Dixon) Pauvlinch and peacefully passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 in Tulsa. After graduating from high school, John proudly joined the United States Air Force on May 1, 1971. He served with honor and dedication until receiving an honorable discharge on January 29, 1975, holding the rank of E-4 Sergeant. On April 4, 1992, John married his best friend and love of his life, Cindy Bates, in Crosby, Texas. The couple shared a deep bond and built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. John began his career in the oil field industry, working in both Texas and Colorado before settling in Muskogee. There, he found fulfillment working at the local brick plant-a job he truly loved. A proud veteran, John later dedicated himself to serving fellow veterans by working as a State Service Officer with the American Legion. Kind-hearted and generous, John was known for his giving spirit. He enjoyed spending time with friends, visiting the casino, and was a passionate fan of the Denver Broncos. He loved playing games-especially when there was money to be won-and also took pride in yard work and tinkering with his computer. Above all, John's greatest joy came from his family. He never missed an opportunity to brag about his beloved wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known affectionately as "PAPS," John was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Katie Pauvlinch; a brother, Ed Pauvlinch; and a sister, Carol Johnson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Cindy of the home; a sister, Janice Castro of Muskogee, brothers, Bob Pauvlinch of Muskogee, and Joe Pauvlinch of Nee Brighton, PA; daughters, Brandi Watkins of Springs, TX and Becky Rodriguez and husband Robert of Big Springs, TX; grandsons, Spencer Schoor and wife Faith of Baytown, TX and Devon Rodriguez of Big Springs, TX; great grandkids, Avery and Declan Schoor of Baytown, TX; nieces and nephews, Beth, Lisa, Andy, Ashley, Lauren, Brandon, and Bryan; family friends, Lane and Karen Davis of Muskogee; nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the VA Hospital of Muskogee for the phenomenal care they gave John. Services will be private. The family of John William Pauvlinch has entrusted his care and cremation to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Muskogee, OK. 918-910-8883.
