Patricia Ann McCroskey, 82, formerly of Stillwater, OK, was born October 18, 1942 in Baton Rouge, LA, to Tenal Cooley and Oretta (Maloy) Cooley and entered eternal rest Monday, August 11, 2025, in Fort Gibson surrounded by her family. Patricia, a dedicated and accomplished individual, spent two fruitful years in college, where her passion for learning flourished. She met and married the love of her life, John McCroskey, on September 7, 1963, and this marriage stood the test of time, lasting 62 years, 0 months, and 4 days until her passing. As an executive administrative assistant to the president of Frontier Engineering, the company who developed the Patriot Missile System, she proved herself to be an exceptionally skilled and efficient professional, adept at managing complex tasks with precision and grace. Her tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence earned her respect and admiration in the workplace. Beyond her career, Patricia was a faithful and beloved member of Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater, OK, where her warm spirit and generosity enriched her community. She and John were also faithful members of Timothy Baptist Church in Muskogee from 2006-2016. She was affectionately known as the "Fun Captain" to her grandchildren. Patricia was a vibrant and nurturing presence whose love for flowers, gardening, and stained glass brought beauty and joy to those around her. A masterful cookie and brownie baker, she filled her home with the sweet aroma of her delicious creations, while her cherished collection of Fenton glass reflected her exquisite taste. Above all, Patricia's unwavering focus was her beloved family, embodying the true essence of Christ's love through her patience, kindness, and grace throughout her life. Fiercely protective and devoted, she demonstrated a tenacious spirit that was distinctly Scottish and Irish, with a delightful attitude and an endearing stubbornness that endeared her to all. Her legacy of love and strength will forever be remembered by all who knew her. She is now reunited with her parents; brothers, Terry Cooley and Johnnie and wife Patti Cooley; half-brother, Tenal Stilwell Cooley; half-sisters, Doris Miller and Jean Schwabe. Patricia is survived by her loving husband, John McCroskey of the home; sons, Mike McCroskey and wife Cindy of Canyon, TX, and Mark McCroskey and wife Katrina of Fort Gibson, OK; grandson, Hunter McCroskey and wife Taylor of Tahlequah, OK; granddaughters, Micha McCroskey of Canyon, TX, Katie McCroskey of Fort Gibson, OK, and Matie McCroskey of Fort Gibson, OK; great-granddaughter, Sadie Mae McCroskey of Tahlequah, OK; brother, Patrick Cooley and wife Patti of Pottsboro, TX; her sister-in-law, aka sister she never had, Joyce Zurcher and husband Paul; nieces, Rachel Classen, Casey Cooley Murphy, and Jill Cooley; nephews, Nicholas Cooley and wife Kristen, along with their children, Clare, Nolan, Joseph, and Benjamin Cooley, Nathaniel Cooley and wife Heather, along with their children, Tayla Marks, JD Marks, Brendan Cooley, and Emma Cooley, and Matthew Cooley and wife Katie, along with their children, Leah, Alexis, and Hunter Cooley, and Cameron Cooley; extended family; and many friends.
