John Albert Bazan-Pena
October 27, 1970 – April 22, 2024
John Albert Bazan-Pena, 53, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
John was born on October 27, 1970, in Austin, Texas.
John was a beloved friend, brother, son, nephew, and father. He was very proud of his daughters and their accomplishments. He always had faith in them. He shared his love of music with everyone and was excited to take Layla to see her first concert - Grateful Dead and Company, as well as many others. He also loved fishing and keeping aquariums at home. He always thought he needed more than the 13 aquariums he was limited to.
John also loved to hang out, party, and celebrate with his family and friends. He was happy spoiling his dogs, watching movies and listening to music old and new at home. He always laughed when Layla told him about her adventures volunteering with Scare for a Cure.
John is survived by his mother Violanda Bazan of Pflugerville, girlfriend Susan Pratt of Austin, brother Adam Pena of Pflugerville, sister Sandy Smith of Jarrell, daughter Layla Star Pena of Austin, daughter Sunshine Elyss Pena of Austin, nephew Tristen Kates of Jarrell and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to Scare for a Cure (scareforacure.org).
