John Joseph Peoni, a cherished husband, brother, and friend, departed from this world on August 26, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana, at the age of 87. He was born on June 16, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Joseph & Catherine Peoni. John lived a life marked by deep love and dedication to his family.

A proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School, John embarked on a successful career with Western Electric, where he dedicated many years of his life. Colleagues and friends knew him as a steadfast worker who always put his family first. His unwavering commitment to his loved ones was the cornerstone of his life; John was a good family man who prioritized his family above all else, ensuring that they felt cherished and supported.

John's kindness and compassion were evident in his daily interactions. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, embodying a spirit of generosity that left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Passionate yet set in his ways, he also possessed a stubborn streak that was endearing to those closest to him.

In addition to his professional dedication, John enjoyed an array of hobbies and interests. He was an avid bowler, finding joy in the sport and the camaraderie it fostered. Travel was another passion of his; Las Vegas sparkled brightly in his heart as his favorite getaway. John delighted in the beauty of classic cars and could often be found at local car shows, sharing his love for these magnificent machines with fellow enthusiasts.

The greatest pride in John's life was found in his marriage to his late wife, Barb. To him, she was not just a partner; she was his soulmate and the love of his life. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and companionship, and her memory will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of those who knew them together.

John is survived by his brothers; Anthony Peoni & Joseph Peoni, along with many nieces & nephews.

John is preceded in death by his loving wife; Barbara Peoni, sister; Frances Fox, brother-in-law; Robert Fox, and sister-in-law; Carol Peoni.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (520 Stevens Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46203) on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 9:30-10:30am with a Memorial Mass immediatley following in the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis.

As we remember John Joseph Peoni, let us honor the legacy of kindness and devotion that he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
