John Anthony Perry

John Anthony Perry (Duke), a man known for his loving nature, kind heart, and delightful sense of humor, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 78 in Clinton Township, Michigan. Born on September 25, 1946, in Detroit, John brought so much joy and laughter to his family and friends.

John's early years in Detroit were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, and he carried that sense of connection throughout his life. He was the cherished brother of Carol Courtney of Warrenville, IL, and Linda Kirby (Rick) of Waterville, OH. His role as a beloved uncle to 16 nieces and nephews was one he took great pride in, and his love and humor will be deeply missed by them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose (Veltri) Perry, who instilled in him the values of family that he held dear throughout his life.

John's professional life was marked by his dedication to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 58 in Detroit, where he was a member for over 40 years until his retirement in 2012.

John was an avid sports fan, with a particular passion for golfing and an enthusiasm for visiting casinos. His love for all sports was infectious, and he could often be found engaging in lively discussions about the latest game or sharing a round of golf with family and friends.

John's legacy is one of love, kindness, and laughter. As we bid farewell to him, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared and the laughter remembered. Though he may be gone, the echoes of his laughter will resonate forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
