John F. Petrowski

John F. Petrowski, age 79 of Waretown passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at his home. John was born in Jersey City and was formerly of Bayonne moving to Woodbridge in 1977 before settling in Waretown in 2006. He was the owner of Chippy's Lounge in Bayonne, NJ. John was a member of the Lacey Elks Lodge and a huge Rutgers sport fan. He loved telling jokes, cooking and everything the Greenbrier Oceanaire Community had to offer.
John was predeceased by his parents John and Adele Petrowski, and his brothers Tommy and Stanley. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Patricia (nee Gaffin), his sisters Barbara (Paul) Brown and Patricia Walicke and his nieces and nephews: Meredith, Lexie, Paul John, Thomas and Rebecca. He is also survived by many loving family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11am at St. Mary's RC Church, 747 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat. Cremation was private and under the direction of Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9. In lieu of flowers contribution can be made to either St. Jude Children's Research or the Popcorn Park Zoo in John's Memory.
