John Proch Obituary
John was born on November 12, 1955, the son of the late John and Maria (Syrlik) Proch. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY, graduating from Midwood High School before beginning his career with the City of New York.
On February 3, 1987, he married the love of his life Denise (LaRosa) in Brooklyn, NY
From 1984 until 1996 John served the City of New York in Brooklyn on Engine 240 as a Firefighter.
Locally, John was a member of the American Legion #1302 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, golfing, and vacationing with a margarita in his hand.
In addition to his wife Denise, John is survived by his loving children: Jade Kolb (Caesar Killiebrew), Stephanie Proch and Nicholas Proch, his granddaughter Madison Garrett, and siblings: Paul Proch and Nancy Proch-Henle (John Henle), and his beloved dogs Bailey, Coco and Kai
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be on Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY.
Memorial donations can be made in John's name to St. Jude's at www.stjude.org or the American Legion Post #1302 which can be mailed to Arlington Post 1302, 55 Overlook Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.

I was so sorry t hear about John´s passing. I have so many great memories with John. I first met John at my business, Hideaway Cafe. I played pool with him in the APA. John was always there to help me. Weather it was taking the garbage out or tending bar. I will always remember him for being kind and generous.. May he rest in peace...
