It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of John Abner Ray, 79, of Lynn Haven, Florida on Saturday, October 5, 2024, following a brief illness.
John is preceded in death by his parents Duncan Roy and Ruby Ray, his sisters and their spouses Delma Ruth Jordan, Doris and Gerald Bass, Inez and Carl Kirtsinger and sister-in-law Myrtle Ray.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna, his daughter Amy (Kevin) Gay, stepdaughters Becky (Charles) Kent, Bonnie Poole (Bill Frye), grandchildren Mallory Gay, Castor Gay, Anna (Michael) Dillard, and great grandchildren Asa and Mia Dillard, brother Roy Ray and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Heritage Funeral Home, Panama City. Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, with Pastor Chad Bass officiating. Following the service, Mr. Ray will be laid to rest in the West Bay Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Willbur Miller, Charles Kent, Donald Wayne Miller, Bill Frye, Kenny Ray and AJ Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are Walter Lee Ray, Jimmy Cauley, Aharon McGill, Alan Kirtsinger, Anthony McGill, Rodney Kirtsinger, Michael Dillard, Gil Anderson and Greg Ray.
