It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of John, on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Rooster was born October 17, 1959 in Rutland, the son of James Edward Reardon Jr., and Beverly Jean (Wetherby) Reardon.
He was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy class of 1977.
John enlisted in the United States Airforce and honorably discharged to return home to Rutland.
Rooster was destined to become a plumber, and joined VT UA Local 693, ultimately receiving his Master Plumber License.
He joined GE Rutland in 2008, where he stayed on for the remainder of his career.
In the same year Johnny had an idea of starting his own Backflow business, Green Mountain Backflow.
He enjoyed interacting with his clients who were located throughout the state.
Rooster's larger than life personality and infectious smile could instantly win hearts.
His circle of friends had no boundaries, and included those from grade and high school, hunting camp, sporting events, the Stewart's shop folks he visited for his daily coffee (his second office) and lastly, his GE family.
True bonds do not diminish; if you were his friend, he was your biggest fan!
John is survived by his wife Lisa, whom he met at MSJ when he was 17, and married June 9, 2017. His daughter Shelby-Lynn and his son Benjamin. He is also survived by his sister Mary Kapitanski (Steve), and his sister -in-law Debra Reardon.
He was pre-deceased by his mother in 2014, father in 2017, and brother James B. Reardon in 2019.
John leaves behind a multitude of family, including many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, In-laws and cousins.
Visiting hours for friends and family will be held on Thursday April 10, 2025 from 3-6 P.M. at Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington Street, Rutland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11 A.M. at St. Peters Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Crawley as the Celebrant.
Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the M.S.J. Athletic Fund at 217 Convent Ave., Rutland, VT 05701 or to a charity of one's choice.
