John Edward Rhoads Jr.

John Edward Rhoads, Jr., age 91, a longtime resident of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on February 23, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving family. John was raised in Marcus Hook, PA, and was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1949. From 1952 to 1956, John served his nation proudly as a member of the United States Navy, aboard the USS Albany. John spent many years working at Air Products, he later retired from Chalmers and Kubeck. In his free time, John enjoyed fishing, gardening, cross-stitching, painting, and crafting. Above all else, John loved his family and especially valued the time he spent with his grandchildren. John was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church and was a former member of Holy Savior Catholic Church. John is the son of the late John E. Rhoads, Sr., and Mrytle C. Plaugher, and husband of 58 years of the late Theresa A. (Mader) Rhoads. Survivors: Children: Susan Harris (Harry), Patricia Mirante (Joe), Joanne Palmer (Mike), John E. Rhoads III, and Theresa Russo. Siblings: Thomas Hendershot (Florence). Grandchildren: Rick Harris, Ryan Harris (Rae), Samantha Mirante-Stricoff (Josh), Joe Mirante III, Andrew Palmer, Emily Gormley (Robert), Taylor O'Donoghue (Ryan), and Robyn Fahy. Great Grandchildren: Riley Harris, Gemma and Giuliana Stricoff, Logan Palmer, Bear Gormley, Irelynn, Payton, and Aubrey O'Donoghue.
