Mr.Rivoli...The very first father that was in my life outside of my family. The beautiful memories of walking from my grandmother's house to the Rivoli's backyard, peeking into the driveway while Mr. Rivoli cleaned his boat with his smile so bright, welcoming me to his home. Enjoying Rivoli family dinners with no phone calls during dinner, as he lived in the present and loved every moment with his family. I am a true believer that he invented sticky notes, with his make shift sticky paper by the family phone, haha! His family was everything to him. I am so blessed to have grown up with the Rivoli family. There is a piece of me that is now missing, but I know he is in a better place and his star will forever shine bright on all of us. xoxo

John hired me to be a Law Guardian in 1987. We Law Guardians at the Legal Aid Society formed a very tight bond as we represented countless vulnerable children in Monroe County. When John became a Family Court Judge in 2001, our group of friends met for breakfast every week until his recent illness. There was always much to discuss and much to laugh about. John was a great person and a great friend. I will miss him very much.

Judge Rivoli was the best judge I ever appeared before. He was fair, calm, judicious, and most especially kind. He will be truly missed.
