John F. Ruocco, a cherished family man and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 8, 1942, in Bronx, NY, John's life was characterized by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for his family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Carmela Ruocco, and his brother Robert, John's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of 50 years, Frances, and their loving children: Stephen and his wife Gina, Joseph, Albert and his wife Randi, Danielle Constantine and her husband Anthony, Joann Vibbert and her husband Marc, and Doreen Ruocco. He is also survived by his sister Roberta, and 10 grandchildren.
John's professional life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his colleagues as a Shop Steward for the Town of Carmel Highway Department, where he served for 30 years. Following his retirement, John pursued his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for food by opening Rocco's Fine Food & Pizza in Mahopac Falls, a venture that brought joy to both him and the palates of those he served.
Beyond his professional endeavors, John was an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the center of his universe, and he loved them with all his heart.
A lifelong Yankees fan, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was known for his ability to live life to the fullest, embracing every moment with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. His handy nature meant he was always there to lend a helping hand, whether family or friend.
