John J. Schultz

Beloved father and husband, John J. Schultz of Rensselaer, passed away on 3/19/2023, at the age of 75. John fought a long battle with COPD and passed while surrounded by his loved ones at The Stratton VA Medical Center. The family would like to thank all the staff who took care of John during his final days. John was born in Albany, NY on 9/1/1947 and was the son of the late Frederick and Helen Schultz Sr. John proudly served during the Vietnam Era in the United States Army. He then worked at Huyck Felt for 12 years and later worked as a Chemical Operator for BASF where he retired, after many years of service. John was an avid Jets fan and a member of the "Hollow Hawks". John enjoyed vacations on the ocean with frequent trips to Hampton Beach. John loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also a dog lover, and enjoyed bowling and coaching Rensselaer Little League. Survivors include his beloved wife Marcia E. (Barlow), his devoted children Jeffrey M. Schultz, Kevin J. Schultz, Lisa A. (Colin) Schultz, and Brian J. (Monica) Schultz. Brother of Fredrick (Priscilla) Schultz Jr., Kathrine (Dennis) Stewart, and the late Helen (Joseph) Quinn. Mother-in-law (Marion Barlow), sister-in-law (Susan Welsh) and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. John was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren; Jacob, Alex, Brendan, Skyler, and Avery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours 1-3 Saturday afternoon followed by a memorial service at 3 o'clock, at the Rockefeller Funeral home at 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer.
