I met Jack in his home when I first moved to New Jersey. Mary and Jorge invited George and me to spend a Sunday afternoon in her parents home in Holmdale. My first memory of him is of him greeting us. Smiling and greeting us as if he knew us and was expecting us. He had a way of making you feel like you were special to him. Almost as if his day got better when he played eyes on you. I will always remember that sense of joy, so sincere and so pure. Incredibly touching. Many times when I think of my own father I think of him. In some way they were kindred spirits. As I told Mary, when I saw him again after many years, George and I were deeply touched by his reaction, just like he had done decades before, he embraced us as if he had missed us every minute and was now lifted by seeing us. It was a beautiful and special gift he had. I will always remember him for it.
