John C. Sheets, 77, of Watertown, Ohio, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville, Ohio. John was born on June 30, 1948 in Akron, Ohio, son of Ronald and Margaret Gaston Sheets. He graduated from East High School in Akron, Ohio and served his country in the Army during Vietnam as an Army Combat Engineer. He later worked at Globe Metallurgical retiring in 1999. John adored his wife Charlotte and loved all his family very much. John especially loved to ride his Harley Davidson with his many riding buddies. On November 3, 1977 he was married to Charlotte J. Thompson Sheets, the love of his life. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Ron Shaffer (Denean) of Beverly, Ohio, Michael Sheets (Ruth) of West Union, WV and John Todd Sheets (Elly) of West Union, WV; two daughters, Robin Schilling (Randy) of Lowell, Ohio and Tammy Jo Slider (Chris) of Lancaster, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kara and Hayley Shaffer, Hope Harra (Brenden), Stephanie Sheets, Troy Gum II, Jonathan Sheets and Megan Ash; four great grandchildren, Landon Sheets, Sawyer Sheets, Anabella Ash and Bodie Gum; and a sister, Rhonda Kroeger (Jim). John was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Greg Marquis officiating. Burial will be in the Watertown Cemetery with Military services at the grave. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, July 4, 2025 at the funeral home and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
