Mr. John Isaac Sheffield III of Tampa, FL passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Holsey Temple CME Church, 3729 N. 15th Street, Tampa, FL 33610, Reverend Anita D. Williams, Pastor, Officiating with Reverend Kevin Hobbs, Eulogist. MASK RECOMMENDED. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
Mr. Sheffield was born on January 24, 1983, in Albany, GA to John Sheffield II and Grace Royal Sheffield. Mr. Sheffield was baptized at an early age at Davis Chapel CME. He attended Blake High School, was a member of the football team and graduated in 2001. While attending high school, John also worked at New Soul Sandwich shop which is owned by his grandmother, Mattie Clark Royal.
After graduating from high school, John worked at TECO for several years, and then pursued a career in truck driving. John attended Werner Trucking School. Upon completion, John became a long-distance Truck Driver with Werner Enterprises, and continued working for a local trucking company until his death.
John loved sports and was a diehard fan of the Rays and Steelers.
He was preceded in death by: his father, John Sheffield II.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted mother, Grace Royal Sheffield of Tampa, FL; brother, Gregory Sheffield of Tampa, FL; sister, April Sheffield of Albany, GA; grandmother, Mattie Royal of Tampa, FL; aunts; Deloris Diane Lovett (Joseph) of Riverview, FL, Lisa Gadson of Tampa, FL and Rowena Sheffield of Atlanta, GA; uncles, Bobby Royal of Tampa, FL, Antonio Williams of Tampa, FL, and Trimonte King; devoted fiancée, Ashley Peppers of Lakeland, FL; great aunts, Annie Gaston (Robert), Fannie Davis (James) and Rubye Smith; great uncles, Willie Clark and Calvin Clark and a host of loving cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. MASK RECOMMENDED.
