John Sneed Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynlee Mae Chapel & Event Center on Oct. 3, 2022.
John Robert Sneed of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on October 1, 2022, at the age of 69. John was born in Oklahoma City on September 20, 1953, to U.S. and Letrice Sneed. As a young man, he served four years in the United States Navy, and later went on to have a rewarding career as an outside salesman in the bearing and power transmission industry.
An avid golfer since the age of 8, John absolutely loved the game of golf. At a very young age, he snuck into a local country club, going undetected for close to three years. John even sold golf balls to fund the purchase of his first vehicle, a Chevy Camaro. He had many passions throughout his life, something all the ladies in his life can attest to. Music though, was his whole life. He was a talented singer who also played guitar, piano, and harmonica. John loved country music most of all, with Merle Haggard being his lifelong idol.
John could be stubborn – he hated being told what to do – but he always seemed to know what was best anyway. He was usually the first to find the party cove out at the lake, and he was always the captain of whoever's boat he happened to be on that day. John enjoyed spoiling his dogs, bass fishing at the lake, hunting, keeping his yard immaculate and his clothing color-coded, and golfing regularly with his four buddies, Millard, Jake, Alfie, and Gary. John's zest for life touched the hearts of many during his lifetime, and he will be dearly missed by all of those lucky enough to have known him.
He was preceded in death by his father, U.S. Sneed, and many beloved pet dogs.
Left to cherish John's memory are his mother, Letrice Sneed; three children, Aaron John Sneed, Lisa Dawn Sneed, and Savana Joy Sneed; two sisters, Theresa Joy Orwig, and Janet Yvonne Richardson; along with nine grandchildren, and his golf buddies and dear friends, Millard, Jake, Alfie, and Gary.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Lynlee Mae Chapel, located at 507 E. Main St. in Moore, Oklahoma.
