John J. Sousa, II
LOWELL-John J. Sousa, 77, passed away on April 18, 2025 following an extended illness.
He was the husband of Sheila J. (Pryce) Sousa.
John was born in Lowell on December 13, 1947, a son of the late John J. and Doris (Sheehan)
Sousa. He was educated in the Lowell Schools. He furthered his education at the Andover
Institute of Business. John served in the US Navy as a Medic.
John was employed for 35 years at the Raytheon Company in Andover, retiring as a Manager.
He was an avid golfer, loved working in his yard, and his vegetable garden. He was also loved
to cook. When his boys were small, John enjoyed being a Little League Coach. He loved
spending time with his grandchildren.
John was the father of the late John J. Sousa III, his oldest son, who passed away in 2017. He
is survived by his wife Sheila J. Sousa; his two sons, Jim Sousa and Je Sousa; two
daughters-in-law, Carrie and Erin; his grandchildren, Kayla, John John, Caitlin, and Jackie; his
sister-in-law, Barbara Cronin and her boys Donald and Bill; his cousins Leo, Steve, and Dave
Sousa, Ed Weza and the late Tom Weza.
He had amazing friends including Tom Dowling, Jay Lane, Fred Abisi, Mike Byrne, and his late
friends, Mickey O'Keefe, and Bob Allaby,
