Mr. Standish,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during the Cold War as a crewmember of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVA/CVS 11). Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dear Margaret and Family, We just learned of Jack's passing through friends and relatives in Maine and cannot begin to express our sadness. He was a great friend to our Father Fred, Uncle Tom and our clan from Stoughton, to Norton, to Maine. He was always a great friend to all of us and the laughs and good times will always be remembered. Jack was a class act and a hard one to be followed. We will miss him greatly. Rest in Peace Jack. Margaret, Sheila and Janice
Sending my deepest condolences to you and your family. I've ran into Jack periodically over the past few years and was always interested how me and my family were doing especially my dad. Jack was a man with a great sense of humor, with a immense love for his family especially Margaret and his grandson who he always spoke highly of. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.

Uncle Jack and my father both took the time to teach me how to do basic carpentry and electrical work when I was young and I appreciate all of the skills that I learned. Jack was always very knowledgeable in the trades and he would always offer a point of view from the working man's standpoint. I often spoke to him about his time on the Intrepid and his days in the Navy and he was never without a story to tell. He also seemed to make the time to speak with me and had a genuine interest in what I had to say regardless of the topic of discussion. The time that we spent as children at Aunty Margaret's with Uncle Jack and Sheila and Janice always bring back fond memories. My mother and father always spoke very highly of Jack and I am proud to have known him. Our thoughts and prayers are now with Margaret and all of the family and we can do nothing more than to wish them the very best.

I've known Jack since first grade at the Adams School. He was good friends with my two brothers, Jim and Alan, also. Jack and I were bussed across town in the 2nd grade to a different school because the classes in Adams were overcrowded. Thus, we had a life long relationship. We considered each other kin and shared very fond memories of times and friends in our West Stoughton neighborhood. I will miss him. Judith Roberts-Doty
