John “Howard” Stephens, 77, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1947, to the late Roy Richard and Ethel Stephens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela R. Stephens; brothers, James Stephens and Mark Stephens; sister, Jessie Bennett; and brother-in-law, Phil Alexander.

Howard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rebecca Lee Stephens; son, Michael H. Stephens (Beverly); daughter, Rhonda L. Stephens Wall (Bill); brother, Von Stephens (Glenda); sister, Dixie Alexander; brother-in-law, Steve Bennett; grandchildren, Zackary Wall (Cammeron), Cody Wall (Teara), Mitchell Stone (Belinda), Billy Powell Jr. (Francis), Kelsey Bartel, Brady Powell (Nicole), MiKayla Stephens, Mason Wall; eight great-grandchildren; special nephew, Todd Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home to help with final expenses.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of John “Howard” Stephens.
