Lillington, NC: Mr. John Taylor “J.T.” Tyer, age 63, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 10437 Green Path Rd. Dunn, NC 28334. Rev. Adam Roberts will officiate. 

J.T. was born on March 20, 1961 in Florida, to the late George Taylor Tyer and Erma Jean Hickman Tyer. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Nicole Tyer, and a brother, Richard “Rick” Tyer. He was a plumber with Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local # 421 Union. J.T. was a hard worker, never complained, and would help any one that he could. He had a love to sing karaoke, poker machines, love for animals, especially Pit Bulls, and he truly had a funny sense of humor. His greatest love was his family, especially his children and grandchildren. 

Survivors include his fiancée Angela Joyner Lucas; son, Jacob Scott Tyer and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Jacob Lee Tyer, Izabella Nicole Tyer, Cloey Vega, Jayden Vega, Adriana Caldera, Aubri Potts, Maggie Jo Whitley, and Boone Whitley; step-children, Kyle Ray Whitley and wife, Amelia, and Jessica Nicole Whitley; siblings, George “Ed” Tyer and wife, Charlene, Mitchell “Mick” Tyer and wife, Melinda, and Gladys MacDonald and husband, Bill; several nieces, nephews and cousins; "lil sis", Melody Lee.

In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity. 

 The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
