John Arthur Valen, age 84, of Lester Prairie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
Preceded in death by sisters Joan Guertin, Jane Zepeda and Grace Huebener and by nephews Mark and Jeff Guertin.
Survived by his wife: Roni Valen; children: Matt Valen, Curt (Barb) Valen, Kristine (Bill) Smitten and Eric Valen; siblings: Diane Valen, Linda Valen and Mary (Mike) Roerig; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; many other relatives and friends.
He was a member of Teamsters Local #120.
A Special thank you to Ridgeview Hospice.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for John Valen will be held on Friday, February 20 th, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Matthew Wiering will be the Celebrant.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 20 th from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
Urn Bearer will be Matt Valen.
