John W. Vogt, 92, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, at home with family beside him.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during the Korean War. He was a plumber by trade and liked to help people in need, rarely charged them (always left his tools). He had an uncanny laugh that everyone remembers. John enjoyed traveling with his family. He loved the horses! He was an avid golfer and bowler in his younger years. Most of all he loved teaching his grandkids and great grandkids his trade. He was a dedicated servant of his church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine; brothers, Bill, Joe, Jim and Denis Vogt and sisters, Henrietta Hadden and Ann Haycraft.
He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Curts (Robert), Debra Farris (Michael), and Mary Elizabeth Vogt; sisters, Jean Nash, Hilda Robinson (Randy) and Doris Marcum; 4 grandchildren; Eric and Brian Farris, Robyn Eaton, Jonathan Curts; 9 great grandchildren, Trenton, Caitlin, Ellie, Rylie, Ryan, Evelyn, Adalyn, Bentley and Finnley.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 4, 2025 at Incarnation Catholic Church 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, with burial in Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, Ky. Visitation will be 3 – 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Ratterman Southwest Funeral Home, 4832 Cane Run.
