John Brown Watlington 83, of 7632 North NC Highway 62 Burlington transitioned from his labor on earth to his reward in Heaven on December 17, 2023. "Brown" as he was affectionally called was born September 14, 1940 in Caswell County, NC to Mr. John Will Watlington and Mrs. Annie Wesley Watlington. "Brown" was married to the love of his life Mrs. JoAnn Spinks Watlington.
He was a God fearing man, he was a faithful member of Jones Crossroads Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon, Trustee, Choir and Male Chorus member, Sunday service and Sunday school active participant. Deacon Watlington served in any and every capacity needed to show God's Love to all. He was truly sending up his timber each and every day.
For many years "Brown" was employed by Stadlers Country Ham.
The life and legacy of Deacon John Brown Watlington will be forever cherished by his wife, JoAnn S. Watlington, his children, Kelvin Lee Watlington, Michael Watlington, Pernell Watlington and Vonda Carol Watlington; two brothers, Rev. Walter "Jimmie" Watlington (Freda) and Percy Watlington; one sister, Bertha W. Miller (Steve); 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.
