John Westbrook Obituary

John "Nick" Westbrook went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2025. John was a beloved father, son, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed. He was a graduate of Harmony Grove High School. He devoted nearly three decades in the trades, obtaining his Master Electrician's license. If you knew John, you know that he was a leader and possessed a teacher's heart. The greatest joy of John's career was preparing his students to work in the trades. John set the standard for his classes by modeling the values of hard work, critical thinking, and taking pride in your craft.
John was a man blessed with many gifts. He had a quick wit, never met a stranger, and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He was a gifted writer with the ability to put his life experiences into words. Whether it was reading a book, drinking coffee, fishing, hunting, tinkering, making homemade ice cream, participating in the Men's Bible Study at Celebration Baptist Church, or taking care of his dogs, Doc and Chopper, John enjoyed the simple blessings the Lord provides.
John's greatest love and treasure was his family. He was an example of love and loyalty to them. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, James and Helen Westbrook and Lance and Marie Draper. He is survived by his sons, Jared of Northwest Arkansas, and Adam and Blake of Malvern; his father, Johnny and mother Darlene (Draper) Westbrook of Malvern and his sisters, Katie and husband Brad Franklin of Little Rock, and their daughter Emily and husband Kennedy Stockton of Sheridan, and Amanda and Josh Zuber and their sons Lathan and Jeremiah of Huntsville; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
There will be no service. Memorials can be made in John's honor to Celebration Baptist Church in Haskell.

It´s hard to put into words what it means to lose someone who carried so much in silence. John was more than a friend-he was sharp, thoughtful, and had a way of noticing things others overlooked. We shared some deeply honest moments, and I´ll always be grateful for that trust. Some souls move through life quietly, leaving behind echoes in the hearts of those who noticed. John was one of those souls. May he finally be wrapped in the peace this world made so hard to find. My thoughts & Prayers are with the entire family..

My heartfelt condolences to the Westbrook family. I worked with John for a number of years and highly respected him. Just a year ago, I met him for lunch and caught up on life. He seemed happy and the way he talked, genuinely enjoyed his technical teaching career. He's one of those persons you meet in life that you never forget. Prayers for your family.

Can't believe that you are gone man I sure wish I could have said goodbye, but I know there's plenty of folks feeling that same way. You have touched so many and are incredibly missed. I know I will miss our conversations and look back fondly on all the fun we had growing up. Rest in peace cousin.
