Mary, I was at the funeral but did not get to speak with you. I did not know your brother but after hearing his friends speak today he seemed to be one great guy. We are praying for you and all the family.

I only knew John for six months when working in Easley for Fry Togs in 1991. Only knowing family and being alone otherwise he became a good friend and someone to hang out with during my short time there. I will always remember the day we worked on a Saturday and he introduced me to steak biscuits and Pepsi for breakfast. I never heard of such a thing; and soda for breakfast! Well John... ever since that day, I started eating steak biscuits and diet coke when I do go to Hardee's. A rare event since here in the Philadelphia, PA area there are none. The closest is over an hour away, but I will make the trip soon to honor him. My condolences to his family. God Bless.

We are so sad to hear John's death. I still can not accept the fact that He is in Heaven. I got the last text message from John " I think that I am over the worst part. My only problem is that I have a lot leg/feet pain. Doctor seems to think that it will just take time" on 8/26/2021, one day before going to hospital. It is not fair to take John away from His family and friends. John is an excellent Husband and Father. He loves his family. He cleaned and waxed their cars weekly. He has a great and kind heart to help others. He spent more than 6 hours daily in Pickens County Meals on Wheels to prepare and deliver lunch to people in need even during the pandemic. We lost a good neighbor and friend. I will miss his interesting stories. Sunny lost a good companion while we were away.
We are heart broken for your loss. Please accept our condolences.

Sharon, I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. I will always cherish the memories of the time when he & Dan worked at Parker District FD and especially when our little group went on the trip to TN together. John had such a wonderful sense of humor and always made me laugh. I will be lifting you and your family up in prayer.
